Hattie Sparks Interiors

Hattie Sparks Collins is a Houston native raised in the city, the mountains of Aspen Colorado, and later the Texas Hill Country. She's based in New Orleans, LA and founded Hattie Sparks Interiors in 2019 after many years of owning her eponymous brick-and-mortar shops, Hattie Sparks. HSI creates warm, layered, and inviting residential spaces for a nationwide clientele. In all of her work, from retail to consulting to interior decorating, she's passionate about creating spaces that nurture connection and authenticity. She believes that ours are lived-in lives, made all the more beautiful by that fact. She helps her clients' spaces reflect the authenticity of their lives with interiors that alight.

It’s such a fantastic way to incorporate touches of the client’s personality into the design of the home since art is so personal.

 

A sitting room just off the entry that we call the “library room”—it has these amazing built-in shelves, lots of color, texture, and vintage pieces I’ve collected over the years, tons of artwork that I love, and a stunning marble mantle and wood burning fireplace. It’s my favorite place to hang out!

 

What are your three "must haves" in order to create an inviting space?

A vintage rug, preferably a Turkish Oushak, something vintage or antique, and a comfortable place to sit.
