A few weeks ago we packed our bags (and pajamas!) and headed to sunny Charleston, SC to meet Emyo for a Marisol's Dress event at the beautiful LAKE pajamas store on historic King Street. Emyo's children's book Marisol's Dress is the story of Emyo's mother who fled Cuba as a young girl and had to leave her parents and treasured possessions behind. Marisol found herself in America with one white dress and one paper doll, but what she if forced to realize is that she has her own strength, confidence, and ingenuity. Marisol's Dress is truly a story for all ages and we loved sharing it with the littlest bibliophiles as well as their parents! Although Marisol's story is a story of refugees from the past, we learned more from the organization World Relief about what they are doing for refugees today. A portion of all Marisol's Dress book sales goes to this incredible organization. After a fabulous story time from Emyo we celebrated with original artwork, treats, pajamas, paper doll making and a book signing. It was a perfect morning and a reminder to us all that we are Braved & Loved.
