It's been far too long since we hosted a guest curator on the blog so we thought we would do something better and host not one, but two! Introducing Guest Curators, Twine & Twig! In late 2013 Charlotte-based Sisters Elizabeth White and Jacquelyn Buckner launched their jewelry brand Twine & Twig. Their beautiful hand-beaded and strung jewelry is inspired by a love for the rustic outdoors and the casual calm of the Carolina coast. Featuring naturally sourced materials from around the world, each piece is designed, handcrafted, and tied with their signature suede strap. Just scrolling through their instagram @twineandtwigstyle has us adding more and more to our Christmas wishlists. Not to mention has us wanting to up our fashion game (can these ladies look and dress any cooler?! Teach us your ways!). It is always so fun to learn from different creators and makers. Elizabeth and Jacquelyn were no different. Read the full post to learn a little bit more about these talented women and to see the Well + Wonder artwork that is currently on their holiday wishlist. Thank you, Twine & Twig!
“don’t keep her waiting” by Sarah Ella Cole
I love the abstract nature of this painting, the color combination and the hard lines.
“Billington x Colorado” by Millie Sims
This painting brings up the idea of an open road and beautiful surroundings. It also reminds me of the Patagonia logo which always makes me happy.
“Sand Dollar on Green” by Christy King
Sand dollars were our grandfather's favorite shell so this painting makes my heart warm.
“Memories V” by Melvin G.
I do not consider myself girly, but I have always loved neon pink. I love the chaos in this painting with all of the colors and erratic lines.
Tell us about yourselves.
We are sisters (Elizabeth White and Jacquelyn Buckner) and launched Twine & Twig in late 2013, inspired by a love of the rustic outdoors and the casual calm of the Carolina coast. Featuring naturally sourced materials from around the world, each piece is designed, handcrafted, tied with our signature suede strap and made in our Charlotte-based studio.
What is currently on your nightstand? What are you reading?
Jacquelyn: I tend to read several books at once depending on my mood. I am currently reading The Light Between Us by Laura Lynne Jackson, Educated by Tara Westover and Being Elvis by Ray Connolly.
What is your favorite room in your house? Describe it.
Jacquelyn: My living room is transforming into a Vinyl room. That is my favorite room in my house because there is always music on, cards are constantly being played and we teach our kids about music from the good old days. We recently organized all of our thousands of records by genre so I love the way they look...we are lining the walls with ledges where some of our favorite albums can face out like works of art.
When and where do you get the biggest surge of inspiration?
Elizabeth: I definitely gain inspiration when traveling.
Jacquelyn: I actually see new ideas and concepts in my dreams. Our children are also an endless source of inspiration.
The greatest color combination that ever existed?
Black and White will always be classic.
What’s your favorite housewarming gift?
A candle. Everyone loves a good candle
So, tell us a bit about your corner of the world – where do you live and what do you love about it?
We live in Charlotte, NC. We were born and raised in the south so we are partial to enjoying all seasons and living in a state where you can drive to the mountains and the beach.
