It’s an absolute privilege and honor to welcome an artist I’ve long admired to our collective. Brynn, your light shines not just through your amazing work on the canvas but through your sweet soul. Thank you for sharing your talent and light with all of us. Her series that she created for Well + Wonder will debut in our collection Monday! (That’s just 3 more sleeps, y’all…)
Brynn likely needs no introduction but for those that may not know Brynn and her incredible paintings read on to get to know a little more about this. Brynn is a Georgia based artist living just north of Atlanta with her husband, two pups, and baby boy Sawyer Gray. She fell in love with creating at an early age, gleaning inspiration from her creative mother. Brynn grew to know that the only thing she ever wanted was to be an artist, and pursued that dream by attending the University of Georgia for her degree in art. She received her BFA with an emphasis in drawing, and it was at this very school where she learned the discipline it takes to be a serious artist, the confidence it takes to accept criticism, and the bravery it takes to try new things. Her career began as a student, as she began to explore her love for the ocean landscape in all its forms. Upon graduation, she took this love story with the water with her and is continuing to explore it today in its many facets, claiming that it never gets boring to her, and remains ever challenging. Today, you can find Brynn at her studio in Roswell, GA painting the day away, getting lost in the waves. Join us Monday, as we welcome Brynn into the Well + Wonder fold and continue reading to learn all about this fabulous lady!
What is currently on your nightstand?
Since I am pregnant, a bottle of Gatorade (lol) and a copy of my latest thriller novel that I am plowing through! I LOVE to read!
Who is your biggest influence as an artist and why?
I absolutely love Claude Monet for the way he chose to break rules and make decisions that “weren’t allowed” to be allowed, welcomed, and celebrated!
Tell us about your childhood. What is the most memorable moment as a young person?
I remember spending a LOT of time outside. Making mud pies, playing “house”, running around the cul-de-sac. I’d describe it as 90’s idyllic!
If you could only have one supply in your art studio, what would it be and why?
Titanium White golden fluid acrylic paint! I go through that stuff so fast!
What is your favorite room in your house? Describe it.
My studio :)! It is in the lower portion of the house (we are in a ranch on a basement) and includes a HUGE wall sized sliding glass door.. this allows a ton of natural light to seep in throughout the day!
What is your biggest score online?
I have scored a few original pieces of artwork before — my favorites including my Raven Roxanne or Karina Bania!
What is the benefit of buying art through a collective? What do you recommend for those that are new to buying original art?
The team at the collective has vetted + curated the best of the best artists so you don’t have to sift through and find them! I’d tell a new collector to purchase what brings them LIFE and what speaks to them. I’ve never regretting buying art that speaks to me!
If you have the entire day to spend in an art museum, which one and why?
Musee de l'orangerie !! I was there in May and truly could’ve spent the entire day with the larger than life Monet paintings. The colors + mark making were memorizing!
What is your favorite hotel and what makes it special?
Ohhhh I really enjoy the Emeline in Charleston! My husband and I enjoyed a getaway there last year. I love the coffee/breakfast shop connected to the hotel, the courtyard, the design.. chefs kiss!
If you were a lipstick color would you be red, pink, or clear and why?
Clear! I always air on the aide of subtlety :)
I can never get on a plane without….
A book!! I read about 1 book a week!
How did you get into the world of art?
My earliest memories of hobbies and enjoyment revolve around art! It was an incredibly natural thing for me to enter into the art world through taking extra classes and then pursuing a degree in art!
What do you do to relax?
Did I mention I love to read? ;) I love to enjoy reading with a cup of coffee! I also really enjoy walking in my neighborhood of Roswell GA!
When do you get the biggest surge of inspiration?
Shocker… but whenever I am near the coast of course! Headed there in 3 weeks.. praises!
Prediction for the Color of 2023?
I’ve cheated and previously knew it was pale yellow! If I had my choice though it would be a sage green :)
What is your idea of a date night? Dinner and a movie or dancing all night?
Dinner and a movie hands down!
Tell us about your favorite painting that you have created.
Oh goodness. I’m not sure I have a favorite, but I will say the “best” work comes from a place of deep confidence and inspiration. When these two meet, magic happens!
One piece of advice for buying original art?
Measure your space, plan ahead, and always buy the art that speaks to you!
