Shelley Bolton (Sheebo), originally a Mississippi native, is an abstract artist currently residing in Memphis, TN. From early childhood her love of art has been an integral part of her everyday life. Having received a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in graphic design from the University of Mississippi, She has also enjoyed teaching art in the classroom and is inspired by the way children create without fear of failure. Shelley is fascinated with the interaction of line, shape, and form found in nature and is challenged by abstraction. Faith is at the core of her practice as she believes the ability to create is a gift for which she can take no credit, one that humbles and shows daily need for growth. Working mainly in acrylic, she builds her canvas by writing messages then applying many layers of mixed media and bold color to tell a story.
