cyanotype, on paper
Sarah Bourne Rafferty is a cyanotype artist based in the Brandywine Valley just 20 miles west of Philadelphia. It is the land that surrounds her that deeply inspires and creates a yearning to explore and appreciate. She tells that story of her surroundings by creating botanical compositions on paper using the oldest photographic process. Sarah received her MFA in Book Arts/Printmaking from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA and received a BA in Studio Art with a concentration in Photography and Book Arts from Warren Wilson College in Asheville, North Carolina. Post MFA, Rafferty continued her studies at Tyler School of Art, BookWorks, and Maine Media among many others.
