Emily Newman of Emily Anne Art Studio is a self-taught artist from Atlanta, Georgia. Emily paints intuitively, creating mixed media abstracts and florals on paper and canvas. She primarily paints with fluid paints, soft chalk pastels, and heavy-bodied acrylics. Emily has battled depression throughout adulthood and her art serves as therapy. Emily’s work depicts the dichotomy that things can be playful and light while still carrying structure and a sense of mood. She hopes her art will tell a story of healing and freedom as it reaches others walking through similar mental health journeys. Emily is a mom to 3 little boys and wife to her high school sweetheart, Jack. Emily’s most recent exploration has been in acrylic, diving into organic shapes with a more graphic approach.
