What inspires you today? Who are your artist “crushes” or favorite Instagram accounts for inspiration?
Helping others commission beautiful portraits for their homes and businesses. A portrait is emotional, moving people to tears of joy and happiness. I love looking at all of our artists' Instagram photos of their favorites paintings and especially the videos explaining their artwork.
What do you love most about the portrait business?
What I love most about the portrait business is finding connections between my clients, artists and myself.
Dream portrait project?
My dream project is meeting a new family and going into their home for a photography session. It's also thrilling to meet Supreme Court Justices, Judges, CEO's of companies, Pastors from churches and Donors, Presidents and Deans of Universities.
What portraits do you have in your home? Where have you hung them and what do you love most about them?
In my home I have portraits of my three children and a clay sculpture of my youngest son. They hang in my living room, upstairs hall and my bedroom. The sculpture is on a beautiful chest in my dining room.
What are the three most important factors to consider when selecting an artist to create a portrait?
Style, medium and price! My top priority is to listen carefully to a client's likes and dislikes, and then I'm prepared to help them select the perfect artist for their needs.
Favorite thing about living in the south?
The south has so many wonderful traditions... portraiture, family, food, and hospitality!
