Amanda is so grateful to have been raised in the beautiful coastal town of Fairhope, Alabama. She was born with the desire to create, but living in a town of artists and patrons of the arts, definitely further encouraged and ignited her passion. She graduated from The University of Alabama in 2011 with a degree in Studio Art and a concentration in painting. Following her graduation, she studied for a year in the graduate painting program at The Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta. She resides in Birmingham with her husband and baby boy. Amanda works in an abstract expressionistic style. She lets paint be paint. Her work is composed of a perfect balance of intuitive experimentation and intentional precision. She enjoys the process of simultaneously adding and eliminating elements. Amanda believes each color has a distinct personality and she enjoys encouraging them to interact. She let’s what exists on a canvas dictate what is to come. Being open to any end result allows her work to evolve.
