Watercolor, Ink, and Resin
Inspired by the aesthetics of floral x-ray photography, developed by a radiologist in the 1930’s, Marina’s paintings are nature-based abstractions driven by an exploration of movement, color, harmony, and balance. Marina was born in Minsk, Belarus in 1992 and moved to the states when she was nine years old. In 2016 she graduated with a BFA from Columbus State University. The minimal and reductive photographs, from which she draws inspiration convey an intrinsic beauty. Within each botanical painting, Marina seeks a level of reservation as well as an embrace of spontaneity.
